Different styles of beer will require different amounts of time. Most ales will ferment in five days and require a minimum of two days conditioning, although the beer will continue to mature and develop after this, your beer will be ready to drink at the end of the seventh day. If you are brewing a lager or pilsner, fermentation will take 10 days due to the lower fermentation temperature and will require four days of conditioning to achieve true lager clarity.
